Father's Day is Sunday, June 17th! Grab your kids and a few simple supplies to put together a gift that is sure to inspire the sense of adventure in the whole family. Choose a vacation destination, a road trip, or a weekend getaway with the kids that you think Dad would love. Once that's determined, work together to create this DIY Travel Bank to save up some vacation funds until that time comes. Dad will love that handmade gift, you'll get to teach the kids a little bit about the importance of saving, and you'll have a constant reminder of the fun that's to come with some cute new wall decor! What You’ll Need: - Hanging wood pallets (we found ours at Michael's)- Chalkboard spray-paint and/or a small chalkboard- Mason Jar or a Tin Can- Command Strips- Chalk Pen- Painter's Tape Step 1: Use the painter's tape to section off a portion of your pallet. Be sure to leave some room for your mason jar or can to be mounted. Step 2: Carefully spray your pallet with chalk spray-paint. Let it dry and then carefully peel off the painter's tape. Step 3: If using a small mounted chalkboard, use your command strips to adhere it to the board. This is an easier alternative to spray-painting and is very kid-friendly! Step 4: Use your leftover heavy-duty command strips to affix your mason jar and can to the pallets. Step 5: Use a chalk pen to decorate your chalkboard! Be sure to specify what you're saving up for and don't be afraid to get a little creative! Step 6: You're all done! Set a goal together for how often you’d like to add to your fund. You can also include a set of QALO rings (just throw them into the mason jar/tin can). Dad will need a ring that is functional for the adventures to come. Safe travels!
